I always suspected that the income disparity could be explained simply by the simple fact that women choose career paths that don't pay as well. Engineering is male dominated, teaching is female dominated. The income difference is VAST, but that doesn't mean it's discriminatory.
I don't think it is necessary to point out the fact that there is a glaring logical problem with this.
But why should making drawings pay less than shaping our nation's future? Yes, there is a gap. But caring professions (which tend to be female dominated) for some reason are paid less.

BTW, my husband is an engineer and I am a teacher. He may design and build important things, but I could be educating the next president (*insert other important people here*)! Why should I make less?
