Halifax regional council is being asked to consider a name change for the Halifax Regional Municipality.Anyone that thought that this wasn't going to happen eventually wasn't paying attention.
Coun. Bob Harvey, representative for Lower Sackville, has put forward a motion requesting the official name be shortened to just Halifax.
"It's really how we present ourselves outside our boundaries, and I think really this motion would keep up with the practice, which is people know us as Halifax and not as Halifax Regional Municipality," he told CBC News on Monday.
Some folks seem to think I occasionally have interesting things to say. I don't always agree.
