Goodbye HRM, hello Halifax?

Halifax regional council is being asked to consider a name change for the Halifax Regional Municipality.

Coun. Bob Harvey, representative for Lower Sackville, has put forward a motion requesting the official name be shortened to just Halifax.

"It's really how we present ourselves outside our boundaries, and I think really this motion would keep up with the practice, which is people know us as Halifax and not as Halifax Regional Municipality," he told CBC News on Monday.
Anyone that thought that this wasn't going to happen eventually wasn't paying attention.
