WASHINGTON—The defiant tone taken by Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak—and widespread confusion about the meaning of his speech—had White House officials stumbling for their next step in a crisis that was spinning out of their control.
this is the kind of story that i find particularly annoying because this crisis SHOULD be out of our control. It is NOT our place to be installing a new government in Egypt. The shape and form of the government, and even of the revolution itself is up to the Egyptian people.
This isn't even about American Exceptionalism, this is about not being an Empire. They are two very different things!
