Rick Perry was not a fighter pilot despite what you might have heard.

And no, you don't get to say "he was a jet pilot" either because the Hercules (which I saw a lot of growing up next to CFB Greenwood) is a turboprop.
None of this is said to diminish his service or his skill as a pilot. He spent 5 years on active duty, doesn't appear to have crashed a bunch of planes and finished up as a Captain, that is an honorable career. His fanboys trying to make it what it was not are the ones that diminish it.
