If you think that the reason you can't run around saying f** and n***** whenever it pops into your head and not have folks think you are an asshole is political correctness then you really need to take a long look in the mirror.
There are very few exceptions to this rule.

Here in the UK the right-wing press (the ones who use 'do-gooders' and 'human rights' as insults), often use the expression: it's political correctness gone mad.
ReplyDeleteTeacher, served in the falklands, suspended for offending Muslims by putting on nativity play at Christmas (in sotto: featuring golliwogs with schoolchildren blacked up). It's political correctness gone mad.
Other than the fact that the correct term should possibly be 'political correctness suffering from mental health issues', I do often wonder what their definition of political correctness was when they considered it sane.
I call a spade a spade and nigger a spade when I feel like it. That's political correctness sane and proper, that is.
Hm. No wonder it went mad.
