On the value of labor.

A serious question in two parts.

  1. If a CEO in the USA could get away with paying nothing for labor other than providing room and board for her staff and their families followed by some sort of subsistence pension after (say) 30 years do you think that she would do it?
  2. Do you think that this would be acceptable to enough people to allow the company to have a reasonable sized workforce? Say for a billion dollar company needing 4,000 staff.
